As most of us come back to work today a few pounds heavier and tired from all the family gatherings and festivities, let’s not forget to push toward ending 2013 on a high note. I have no doubts that 2014 will be our best year ever and there is no better way to start the year off right than by ending this year at your goal. I trust that each of you had a Merry Christmas and I look forward to a great 2014!

As 2014 quickly approaches, many of us will soon find ourselves reflecting on the past and thinking about things we want to change and/or improve upon in the New Year. For many, these New Year’s resolutions will include eating better, exercising more and other things they can do to live a healthier lifestyle. Blue Cross & Blue Shield of MS wants to make it as easy as possible to start and maintain your healthier lifestyle choices. That is why they have partnered with select wellness centers throughout the state, usually affiliated with their network hospitals, to provide discounts to their members. Simply show your current Blue Cross & Blue Shield of MS ID card when signing up at a participating facility to receive the discount at that particular location. Lose weight, quit smoking, become debt free, be a better person. These activities must be lots of fun because I know people who work hard to do them every single year!
According to figures I found online roughly half of American’s will make some form of New Year’s resolution this January and, of those, approximately 88% will fail. I kept looking online and found some tips to help us all make better resolutions for 2014.
My challenge to you today is to pick that one personal goal you have been wanting to accomplish for some time now and use this helpful list to make you successful towards that goal. Good luck!
This will be my last post until after Christmas so I would like to wish all of our team members a very Merry Christmas. — Luke

All of our businesses have either four or five working days left before Christmas. These remaining days have the potential to be the busiest and most productive of the year! We should have the opportunity to serve some customers for the first time during this busy period. This is a great opportunity for us to display exceptional customer service that goes above and beyond expectations. Good luck to everyone during these busy days!

At our company Christmas party, Gladys from the Kosciusko store asked me multiple times if I had seen Jon Jon. I finally asked her why she needed to find Jon Jon…..her response made me smile and I wanted to share with all of you. She said that the internet and telephone had been down at her store all Friday afternoon. She did not want her Friday report to be late so she wrote all the information down and brought it to the Christmas party to give to Jon Jon. If we could all care so much about doing our job both timely and accurately, how much better could we be as a company? A thought for the day…….. – Happy Hump Day Everyone!

At Simple Pawn and Jewelry we are having weekly contests for the month of December where one team member has the opportunity to win an extra $20.00 bill
. The competition takes under consideration all of the most important aspects of the pawn business- lending, collecting, sales and purchases to name a few. By adding these figures along with a couple of others we come up with our “productivity”. For our first week of the competition Justin came out on top and was presented his $20.00 by Louis. Congratulations Justin and good luck to the entire Simple Pawn team with the rest of the Christmas Season! — Luke
