Montgomery  Enterprises, Inc. (MEI) and Choice Pawn-Tupelo received the award for the best looking new financial services store in the nation at this year’s Financial Service Centers of America (FiSCA) Conference.

See the Northeast Mississippi Daily Journal’s Biz Buzz coverage here.

The Exemplary Store Appearance of the Year (StAR) Award is issued each year to the FiSCA member organization that operates its stores in a manner that best reflects the organization’s best practices and whose image reflects most positively on the industry as a whole.

MEI won the award for its Choice Pawn location in Tupelo, Mississippi, which has been in operation since July of 2014.

“It feels great to receive national recognition for something we intentionally set out to do at the inception of Choice Pawn,” said MEI CEO Luke Montgomery. “Our goal is to provide an environment that makes our customers comfortable and makes our team members proud to work in every day. This is just more motivation to double down on that goal as we open more stores.”

MEI representatives were on hand to officially accept the StAR Award during the 27th Annual FiSCA Conference in San Francisco. The FiSCA Conference is the industry’s annual gathering of representatives from more than 6,500 financial service center storefronts nationwide.

“The FiSCA StAR Awards were established to recognize members that operate stores that reflect positively on the industry,” said Edward D’Alessio, Executive Director, FiSCA. “Nominees are subject to extensive review against our stringent Store Appearance Best Practices, which evaluate both store interiors and exteriors. This year was an especially competitive year with more highly qualified nominees for Store Makeover of the Year than we have had in many years. Against this stiff competition, Choice Pawn’s Tupelo, Mississippi, location stood out for its originality and functionality, and for its ability to serve the community. Choice Pawn truly represents the ideals behind the FiSCA StAR Awards.”

Choice Pawn-Tupelo is one of four Choice Pawn locations, with others in Fulton, Mississippi; Birmingham, Alabama; and Louisville, Kentucky. Choice Pawn is a part of a larger network of 36 MEI owned and operated specialty consumer finance locations across the Southeast. The MEI network of specialty consumer finance brands includes Money Matters, Choice Pawn and Approved Auto Sales.
