HAPPY 2014!

This is my first blog for the new year.  I am very excited about MEI’s vision and challenge each of you to seize the opportunity

you’ve been given as an MEI employee and make 2014 our BEST year yet! – Kandi

“If there is a trait which does characterize leaders it is opportunism. Successful people are very often those who steadfastly refuse to be daunted by disadvantage and have the ability to turn disadvantage to good effect. They are people who seize opportunity and take risks. Leadership then seems to be a matter of personality and character.”

A Look Back

Most of us spend time at the beginning of a new year planning and setting goals for the upcoming year.  I believe this practice is necessary to achieve high levels of success.  I also believe it is equally important to look back at the previous year and evaluate what you learned and find ways to implement those things in your new year.

On Luke’s conference call yesterday he discussed the success of the Drive for 5 campaign.  I encourage you to look back at your daily practices as well as the practices of your team members that created this success and plan how you can continue to use these practices and build on them as we kick off 2014-Our Best Year Ever.

It has really motivated me to start this year off with a bang. I encourage each of you to read this article and refer to it daily as I will be doing.

Headed into 2014

As most of us come back to work today a few pounds heavier and tired from all the family gatherings and festivities, let’s not forget to push toward ending 2013 on a high note.  I have no doubts that 2014 will be our best year ever and there is no better way to start the year off right than by ending this year at your goal.  I trust that each of you had a Merry Christmas and I look forward to a great 2014!

Final Days

All of our businesses have either four or five working days left before Christmas.  These remaining days have the potential to be the busiest and most productive of the year!  We should have the opportunity to serve some customers for the first time during this busy period.  This is a great opportunity for us to display exceptional customer service that goes above and beyond expectations.  Good luck to everyone during these busy days!

Better one day too soon than a minute too late

At our company Christmas party, Gladys from the Kosciusko store asked me multiple times if I had seen Jon Jon.  I finally asked her why she needed to find Jon Jon…..her response made me smile and I wanted to share with all of you.  She said that the internet and telephone had been down at her store all Friday afternoon.  She did not want her Friday report to be late so she wrote all the information down and brought it to the Christmas party to give to Jon Jon.  If we could all care so much about doing our job both timely and accurately, how much better could we be as a company?  A thought for the day…….. – Happy Hump Day Everyone!
